2009 Fantasy Football Team

Check out my lineup this year. I think my team turned out pretty well. We’ll see what happens during the season. My favorite part, the team name and logo.

Holga Rocks!

hello mad

Here are some photos taken with the Holga over the past 8 months, the most recent being from a fun day of shooting while Dideo was down from NJ.  I’m still trying to figure out why some of the shots show the backing paper.  Enjoy.

@MegaJoshX reminded me about this awesome DNB track that uses a sample of the GiTS movie theme song.

Just heard this on SYTYCD. Sounds like something from Girl Talk.

I finally started looking into HTML 5 last in depth and I somehow found a link to the uxlondon.com site because it was written in HTML 5.  When I arrived I noticed the nice clean design work of Clearleft (I’m assuming since it was their conference) but what I really wanted to see was under the hood. I used the trusty View Source Chart add-on for Firefox and I was in for a treat.  I am not lying when I say I think it is a beautiful piece of art.  I felt the way Hank Hill feels about propane.  Here are some of the highlights but I suggest you take a look yourself if you are into these types of things.

Comments on Twitter Comment System

  • Jul. 6th, 2009 at 6:17 PM
hello mad

Michael Heilemann posted on Twitter (and his extended thoughts on his site) about using Twitter as your commenting system for your blog.  I agree with Michael’s assessment on the state of the blogosphere and lack of commenting etc.  However I do not agree with Twitter being the sole form of commenting allowed. The biggest reason being you cannot always express your thoughts in 140 characters or less.  Second biggest reason would be that the person would have to use Twitter. I think the best option would be for twitter to provide those old things called linkbacks that were all the rage not to long ago.  This could also tie into an idea I read the other day and have bit.ly handle the linkbacks from Twitter.

Some other ideas and thoughts while writing this up.  Do people use hashtags in blog posts? I need to make a modification to Twitter Tools to look for hashtags in the post tags and include them in the tweet it sends out.

Boss finds archaic message on his desk

  • Jun. 29th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
hello mad

MELBOURNE, FL — Gil Creque, Senior VP at GMRS, returned from a meeting today to find what scientists are calling an ancient and lost method of messaging know as writing a note. Gil was confused when he first found it since it’s a method that hasn’t been used for at least a few years.  The archaic looking runes were hard to understand so Mr. Creque immediately scanned the message, taking great care to not destroy the delicate copy paper it was written on, and sent it off to the University of Florida for examination.  They messaged back via email that what he had found was extremely rare along with a translation of the message.  When the message was revealed to be a note from a co-worker that was written a mere 20 minutes ago he knew his employee was something special.  The employee, Joshua Maynard of Palm Bay, explained he remembered this form of messaging from his childhood and was trying to bring it back into style.  Mr. Creque had every reason to be confused because it didn’t show up in his Twitter stream, his email, or even as a random comment on his blog where you would expect these types of messages to appear.  Take a look at the message below along with the translation.

Archaic Message Found on Mr Creque's Desk

Archaic Message Found on Mr Creque's Desk. The message reads "Josh Out Running Errand Back in an hour Plz call cell If needed 2:18"
